Mark
In the Whole30 shopping list it shows Lettuce under vegetables but only lists bibb, butter, and red. Does that mean Romaine and Green Leaf Lettuce are not acceptable? If so, why?
alexsjaan
Romaine and green leaf are definitely acceptable. My guess would be that the others are included because they have more nutrients, or something similar. It would be near impossible to write a comprehensive shopping list of all Whole30 compliant foods. But, yes, you can have romaine.
Robin Strathdee
That list is definitely not exhaustive
Mark
Seems like it should have been Lettuce (except for iceburg, and any others they don't recommend). We ate red leaf lettuce for a month because we thought we could only choose from the 3 listed. I should have asked before. :-(
Lacey Crenshaw
The list gives the best recommendations but it's always a good idea to do your own research as well. Part of learning process. I can see how a month of red leaf could get blah. I'd lose my mind only eating one type!
