Johnsonville Italian Sausage lists ingredients: Less than 2% of the following: salt, spices, natural sugar... Do you think this is naturally "occurring" sugar or added "natural" sugar? jent103 Posted March 24, 2014 Share Posted March 24, 2014 If it's listed as an ingredient, I would assume it's added sugar of a "natural" variety (whatever that means - I guess as opposed to Splenda or something). Naturally occurring sugar wouldn't be listed as an ingredient (like in unsweetened applesauce - it's naturally sweet, but there's no sugar on the ingredients).
