somewhat silly question

I have been diagnosed with coeliac disease since I was 13 months old (I am now nearly 23.)

 

I have always had a gluten free, wheat free, barley free and oat free diet as a way of management.

 

Will my body still be experiencing the effects of having an autoimmune disease despite avoiding the triggers?

That's not a silly question at all - you might refer to the site Paleo Mom (and her book too) for some insights into this very complex and not simple at all question.  Chris Kresser is another good one to google for information.
