Kiervol
but I do Crossfit 3 times a week. Have a very sensitive gag reflex so pre and post eating is challenging for me (for example, can't do a hard boiled egg), plus I have a very short window and have to prep ahead and eat cold (cold is what makes me gag- cant even think of eating a slice of cold chicken (although plan to do cold chicken salad ahead of time, with paleo mayo as the fat) without salad next to it), but could a thermos of bone broth post workout work? I have weight to lose, so can skip carb post workout. I guess the question is: is chicken bone broth low fat? Is beef bone broth low fat? Sorry to be so fussy! StaceFaceAK
What about jerky instead? I know there's some recipes somewhere to make your own (I know I can't find anything compliant in the store). Would take some prep work, but would be worth it I think. I don't think bone broth would really be a significant source of protein for a post-wo meal, regardless of the fat content. A good, homemade broth is mostly gelatin, I believe.
StaceFaceAK
Also, I think if you're doing Crossfit 3 times a week you've earned the right to call yourself an athlete. Just saying!
Kiervol
Hi, thanks for the reply, I didn't see it! Ok, will search for a jerky recipe this weekend and see what I can pull together. I think the pre workout meal is cool, it is post workout, in the car, that I'm struggling with, but I'll get there. Thanks so much. Oh, and ha, I'll call myself an athlete when I don't have to scale the workout all the way below the weakest in the class!
