Not an athlete...

but I do Crossfit 3 times a week. Have a very sensitive gag reflex so pre and post eating is challenging for me (for example, can't do a hard boiled egg), plus I have a very short window and have to prep ahead and eat cold (cold is what makes me gag- cant even think of eating a slice of cold chicken (although plan to do cold chicken salad ahead of time, with paleo mayo as the fat) without salad next to it), but could a thermos of bone broth post workout work? I have weight to lose, so can skip carb post workout. I guess the question is: is chicken bone broth low fat? Is beef bone broth low fat? Sorry to be so fussy!

What about jerky instead? I know there's some recipes somewhere to make your own (I know I can't find anything compliant in the store). Would take some prep work, but would be worth it I think.

I don't think bone broth would really be a significant source of protein for a post-wo meal, regardless of the fat content. A good, homemade broth is mostly gelatin, I believe.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I didn't see it!  Ok, will search for a jerky recipe this weekend and see what I can pull together.  I think the pre workout meal is cool, it is post workout, in the car, that I'm struggling with, but I'll get there.  Thanks so much. :) Oh, and ha, I'll call myself an athlete when I don't have to scale the workout all the way below the weakest in the class!
