wholelottahope
Saw Organic mayo at whole foods and I am pretty darn sure this is W30 approved. Anybody else use this? I tried to put a pic up but couldn't get it on here. Thanks in advance!
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted March 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 29, 2014 Read all the ingredients on the label. And check the Can I have...? blog post. If that doesn't clear it up come back and tell us the ingredients, but I bet you'll be able to find your answer.

wholelottahope
Thanks ultrarunnergirl!! I am pretty positive it meets all the requirements but surprised to find such an item, and I had only noticed on the "what's allowed" to make your own mayo , so I wondered if I stumbled on something mythical lol. VioletRose
I also have found compliant mayo here in The Netherlands. I was way to happy about it, haha. And it tastes so much better than the mayo I used to buy.
missmary
post the ingredients wholelottahope, please. While I might believe that they have compliant mayo in the netherlands....I'm seriously doubting they have it at whole foods...
Tina R
Are you sure it doesn't have canola or soy bean oil? Canola is ok if you are eating at a restaurant but you want to avoid it in your mayo and soybean oil is not compliant. Please let us know the brands so we can find some. Every mayo that I have found is not compliant. By the way, it is really easy to make if you have a blender, food processor or stick blender. JJB
Organic does not equal compliant. I think it would be pretty mythical if you found a store-bought mayo w/out soybean oil! The only brand I found online is Spectrum, which does have soy.
wholelottahope
So it does have canola oil, not soy bean though. I though some canola was ok??

homerfrizzell
Canola is only ok when dining out because otherwise you could never eat out. It's still a crappy oil and shouldn't be in anyone's kitchen.
Moderators LadyM Posted March 29, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 29, 2014 Homemade mayo is unbelievably easy and delicious, especially if you have an immersion blender. Trust me. Try this. You can thank me later.
AmyS
Make your own mayo. You'll never go back to store-bought.
scrapstitching
The 365 WF Organic does contain expeller pressed canola oil. As I read it, canola oil is allowed as a convenience to adapt to restaurants using it and the ability to eat out once in a while. I don't have ISWF in front of me, but the rest of the ingredients were fine. I use it beyond W30, but am not 100% sure about using in during a W30. I don't eat enough mayonnaise to make it, but I have made it and it's easy to do.
Bet
I just made my own 'mayo' for canned salmon. I can't have eggs, so I took a half an avacado put in some lemon juice and olive oil and mixed it so it was the consistency of mayo. Then I mixed it in with the salmon. Delicious!!! Robin Strathdee
Here's the thing: This would be one of those technically-compliant-but-not-likely-to-get-you-great-results foods. Most of us use mayo as a healthy added fat, but canola oil is a poor fat choice. You're much better off avoiding this and choosing a completely different source. jlrobiso
I echo everyone else who says to make your own. Seriously. You will never go back.
