Wynne Jones
I am attending a TV watching party with some friends to watch the season premiere of Call the Midwife. It is a potluck deal, and I know friends are bringing scones, coconut cake, etc. I'd like to bring a few compliant snacks that will fit with the English theme if possible. Ideas? eileenwithane
What about cucumber "sandwiches". Instead of bread use the cucumber and mix shredded chicken with homemade mayo.
eileenwithane
Oh and not sure how English, but deviled eggs are great!
gardengirl
I have no suggestions but wish I could attend the party! I love that program!
Moderators ShannonM816 Posted March 30, 2014 Moderators Share Posted March 30, 2014 Sort of like eileenwithane's suggestion above, these finger sandwich type rollups look easy and elegant and W30 compliant: http://aliwentpaleo.wordpress.com/2012/06/04/turkey-cucumber-roll-ups/ -- you might have to switch the type of meat, I didn't ever find a W30 compliant turkey deli meat, but I did find some roast beef, this Applegate Farms: http://www.applegate.com/products/organic-roast-beef
Anna Salazar
This looks good, too: http://nomnompaleo.com/post/48532229579/spicy-salmon-cucumber-bites Spicy Salmon Cucumber Bites
Wynne Jones
These! http://www.theclothesmakethegirl.com/2010/05/17/scotch-eggs-a-k-a-protein-pellets/ Never have made them - anyone know if they are as good if you make them the day before? SpinSpin
I have made scotch eggs and taken them camping and they lasted quite well in an ice chest, so I am sure they would be good the next day! They are traditionally served with mustard, and I bet you could do a mustard sauce by mixing homemade mayo with a compliant mustard!
GlennR
Ahhh, too late, I know, but fish and chips would have been good. Paleofied, of course: grilled or baked cod or haddock, and sweet potato fries (chips), with tartar sauce (from homemade mayo) on the side. (For more authenticity, wrap the fish in newspaper!)
