Ok... 1st forum/blog/community post like this EvEr!! I feel the need to be involved in this Whole30 community and share my experience like thousands of others have.

Let me start by saying the Whole 30 website and all the testimonials and reviews have motivated me beyond belief! I don't recall ever feeling so strong and ready for positive changes. I'm stoked!

Today is day 3. I didn't wake up with a raging headache, I don't feel as though I'm lacking energy, I feel pretty darn amazing! Could it be the calm before the storm? All of the week 1 & 2 horror stories are a bit intimidating but I'm not letting that stop me. Could it be that I'm just lucky? :P I'll let you know in 7-10 more days...lol

I have the fridge stocked with amazing meats and veggies and have found the cooking and preparing to be quite manageable. I peruse paleo Whole30 compliant recipes during the day and try to add some of my own ideas and it seems to be working great. This mornings breakfast was 1/2 a sweet potato with a little ghee and 3 egg whites (1 yolk) and organic chicken sausage cooked in a little coconut oil! Breakfast did NOT suck!

I'm ready for an amazing day 3 and wishing everyone else positivity and strength in their journey!!

Congratulations! That is awesome that you feel great on day 3! Have you downloaded the meal planning template? http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf.  I think you need more veggies and fat. You should aim for 2 - 3 cups per meal and 1 -2 thumb sized portions of fat. The fat will help keep you satisfied so you don't need to snack in between meals. Not sure why you are avoiding egg yolks, they are good for you. Enjoy!

Thanks for the encouragement!!!  I have downloaded the template. I feel pretty confident about most of my meals so far.. I'm pretty sure? You don't think that with the ghee, coconut oil and the fat from the sausage that it was sufficient? I considered adding half an avocado for more fats.. instead I brought it to work. I can add it into my lunch.

As far as the egg yolks.. I am trying!! LoL! I'm just not a fan.. maybe I'll work my way up from just 1. ;)

Thanks for the insight!

I don't count the cooking fat because most of it is left in the pan. If you notice that you are starving before lunch or need a snack then add more fat, if not then continue what you are doing. I have started to eat a stir fry of ground meat and veggies in the morning. It's a good break from eggs and keeps me satisfied longer. The only spices I add are salt and pepper.
