Guest
I recently completed a whole30, felt great. Stayed eating the whole 30 way, more energy for running, less hunger through the day, all fab. However, my eczema has flared up on my hands and is worse than ever I have tried every cream under the sun, I'm taking a zinc supplement, even the typical steroid cream treatment didn't work. I've trimmed my nails really short and tried wearing gloves at night to stop me scratching, but I either take them off in my sleep or itch without realising as I wake up mid-scratch and blood everywhere I've hoovered my room, washed my clothes, I've been taking anti-histamines... I'm going on holiday next week and the thought of still having bad eczema is really upsetting. Any suggestions?
Robin Strathdee
This one is so hard! Could there be any environmental triggers?? Are you eating anything new and different with this Whole30 than you have before?
Guest
Nope - it is baffling me too! I went to the doctors last night and he has prescribed a really strong steroid cream....eugh
hipp.kay
Hey there. Sorry to hear about the eczema I know how you feel though. I have the WORST skin ever and I live in a cold dry environment to make things all that better. I haven't tried the Whole30 quite yet so I can't speak as to what about it might be causing the flare up. I was suffering pretty badly though and I learned that I am allergic to artificial fragrances. I am wondering if maybe you have a similar allergy? It's just an idea, but for me it has helped a lot with both my eczema and my migraines. Unfortunately, it is a bit of a pain in the butt though, but for me it was totally worth it though. I had to cut out most of my old beauty products and replace them with all natural versions scented only with essentials oils. Also cleaning products were big. I use something like a Clorox wipe and my hand breaks out pretty bad :/ so all of that had to be switched for things like vinegar and baking soda. I just thought I would suggest it. I'm sorry that I couldn't help with the Whole30 aspect of it. I hope your flare up clears soon! Alexis Schwartz Ps. Coconut oil helps my skin a lot during breakouts! Better then my prescription creams even!
