louisehoare
Hi, my name is Louise and I'm both excited and nervous to be starting my first ever Whole 30 tomorrow. I feel well prepared, all food cupboards are cleaned out of non-compliant food (bar the stuff my husband eats but I don't eat anyway like pasta), got my meals planned for the next few days, ordered the daily 30 emails to help me stay on track and this evening I took measurements and photos so I can compare my progress in 30 days time. Thankfully I am on half term this week (I work in a school) so have 2 weeks to get over many of the cravings/want to kill all the things feelings before going back - also means temptation is kept to a minimum - there is always cake and sweets in the staffroom! I did cut out most sugars and wheat for a few months a while back (following some digestive health testing which showed high levels of candida plus intolerance testing) but once symptoms passed I started to reintroduce foods again to the point I am now fully under the sugar dragon's control! My weight has started creeping up the scales, clothes are feeling a bit tighter plus I just don't feel 'right' - just sluggish and my anxiety has started getting worse again - all signs I need to and want to make some changes and Whole30 fits the bill! Look forward to chatting to some of you over the next 30 days and checking in with my progress! Good luck to all those starting tomorrow too! tahoecorgilover
Hello Louise, I am starting W30 tomorrow too. I cooked half of yesterday and half of today. Made some soup, a big tossed salad, greens, chicken and stocked up on eggs, ghee, and more vegies. I'm retired so I have time to shop and cook (more than working folks anyway). I also have candida issues as well as GERD/LPR (acid reflux). So I'll be tipping it light on the fruit. I think this will be an excellent start to slaying the candida dragon too. I hope so anyway. Good luck! United we stand!!!

louisehoare
Hope you guys did ok with your first days? Mine wasn't as great as I had hoped, just felt weak and emotional most of the day! Was in tears by the time my husband came home! Think it's the sugar dragon though - after a cry and a chat woken with determination and today has been easier. still feel a bit weak and tired but can live with it! tahoecorgilover
That does sound like the sugar beast to me! Glad you're feeling better today. Sounds like the first week or so can be challenging. I battled a headache, some nausea and lots of bloating. Not feeling great this morning either. I actually began the diet last Friday but didn't officially commit until yesterday (April 7). So we're on the same track!

tahoecorgilover
I haven't had a dream like that yet but apparently it is fairly common because the Daily newsletter talked about it this morning!
