Starting on April 7th for the first time

Hi guys my name is Chelsea. I am 24 years old and the mother to two beautiful children. My coworker and I decided to start this diet together in hope's of resetting our eating style as well as becoming healthier. I am hoping that by doing this and completing this program I will help set a healthier example to my children.


Do you guys have any tips or advice that you wouldn't mind sharing?

Check out this post for frequently asked questions. http://whole30.com/2013/06/the-official-can-i-have-guide-to-the-whole30/  I would search the forum for more tips. actually search goolge.com "Whole30  whatever you are looking for". Make sure you read all labels carefully, the last thing you want to do is start over because you found soy in your tuna on day 10. I would avoid letting anyone cook for you. They don't understand the rules, they will try their best but may use soy, gluten, butter, Worcestershire sauce or wine and not realize that you now have to start over on day 20. I would avoid restaurants, they will try to help you but usually there will be noncompliant ingredients in your food.


Have some quick go to meals. There will be days when you don't feel like cooking and ordering a pizza will feel like a great idea. If you have stuff you can throw together it will help you get through it. My favorite is ground meat with 2 - 3 veggies stir fried with coconut oil salt and pepper. You don't have to buy all the exotic ingredients like red boat fish sauce, pure ghee, or duck fat. They can be expensive. You will probably not find sugar free bacon so just don't eat it for your whole30.

Try to eat according to the meal planning template. http://whole30.com/downloads/whole30-meal-planning.pdf.  This will help you avoid snacking. Also the first week can be really hard so if you need to eat 4 meals to get through the day do it. Just don't snack on fruit and nuts, eat a mini meal instead.
