almondjoyless
Day 8 of my slightly modified Whole30 and I'm feeling great! I have way more energy and I'm barely tempted by off-plan items. Plus, two separate people asked me if I had been out in the sun because I was "glowing." Nope, just eating vegetables for once in my life! My question is: is it more likely that I'm in a "honeymoon" phase (akin to Day 1) or is there a chance that I hit tiger blood a lot earlier than expected? If there's still a real possibility of a late "crash" or hangover (which I didn't really experience on days 2 - 3), I'd like to be prepared for it. I'm expecting a YMMV answer (who knows for sure what my body's gonna do) but if other people have had similar experiences at this stage I'd love to hear how it went in the days that followed. Robin Strathdee
Here's your standard YMMV answer: You may have hit the good stuff a little early. BUT some folks do experience a delayed crash. Those folks often find it helpful to add 10 days to their Whole30.
peace_positive
Tiger blood feeling came in waves for me. Some days were/are tough. After 30 days I introduced a few things and realized i really needed more time and a little more experimentation. Since food is delicious and easy to cook now, it's almost completely my lifestyle now (i lost track of days--maybe been 2 months)
El Sabor Asiático
On my first Whole30, tiger blood hit me probably around day 8 or 9. My moment of realization was when I woke up at 5 a.m. on Saturday morning, jumped out of bed and straightened up the living room, then unplugged our computers and reorganized and labeled all the cables before cleaning and organizing the computer desks. I felt like Alex Keaton on Family Ties in that one episode where he takes Mallory's "diet pills" and spends all night digging trenches in the backyard! For me, that increase in energy did sustain throughout the (rest of the) 30 days, which I attribute to using that boost to start a workout regimen during this time. I'm not sure why tiger blood came on so quickly that time. For my wife, it didn't kick in until much later, and we were eating the same meals on the same schedule. We're both doing a Whole30 now, and it seems to be reversed -- my wife is at the tiger blood stage now (at day 8), while I don't think it has kicked in for me yet. kel_be
This must be what I'm running on. Monday (day 7) I cleaned the whole house, spruced up the garage and cleaned my weight section of the garage. Today I reorganized the fridge and pantry. Plus still kicking butt with my workouts. I love it and I hope it's not a high before the crash. almondjoyless
Thanks for the feedback! Yesterday was high energy until around 8, then I crashed hard. Today's another good day so far. Hooray!
