buildingmytemple
where are good places to find compliant bacon, and breakfast sausage...most of what I am finding has added sweeteners
mangio_bene
Consider making your own sausage. You should be able to get a butcher to grind pork shoulder for you at most any grocery store. Then add spices. There are dozens of recipes online ... just make sure all the ingredients are W30 compliant.
TessTurbo
Pedersen's bacon is available at Whole Foods. It doesn't contain sugar.

dipitie
I usually make my own, but have found compliant bacon and sausage at a farm I order from in addition to US Wellness Meats: http://www.grasslandbeef.com/StoreFront.bok
almondjoyless
I haven't had any success finding compliant bacon in any store. (I tried Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and a local mega-supermarket.) Most people seem to order their compliant bacon from a website.
bpfwhole30
I just got sugar-free bacon from US Wellness Meats in the mail today. Had some for dinner tonight and it was so worth it!
buildingmytemple
Thanks all. I found the Pedersons online but I don't have a wholefoods store very near to where I live. As for breakfast sausage I did find lots of recipes. YAY! Is the Aidells chicken apple sausage more of a link or patty?
jent103
I think Aidell's may have both kinds (just from what I've read here), but the one I've seen is four links in a pack.

Packet come in regular, hotdog size and small, weiner-type breakfast links.
Kmlynne
check with your deli counters at your local grocery. We have a wegmans locally - I checked with the butcher and found that they had compliant bacon and sausage, as well as deli meats. I asked to see their ingredient book just to make sure Also, check and see if you have any small local butchers. Sometimes, even if they don't carry something they will know where to get what you want and will special order.
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted April 28, 2014 Moderators Share Posted April 28, 2014 Here's a very helpful list of names of how sugar can be listed. Also you can add "Sucanat" to this list - stands for Sugar cane natural, have found that in the whole foods meat counter stuff, even when the guys insisted no sugar was in it. Good luck! http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Sugar.pdf

CompleteinHim
Hi just planning on starting the Whole30 on the 1st July (gonna take that long to get the whole family used to the idea and plus I hope to finish the book by then too) and will check with my local butchers on the sausage front as if I can source these then that will definitely keep my DH and youngest DS very happy. But as I am in the UK do you know of any stockists in the UK for Whole30 friendly sausages...?
CompleteinHim
Hi sorry don't worry about answering this question on this thread as I've found some very good tips and places to shop on the other thread "sourcing good food" :-). Thanks
MeadowLily
If you've lived there awhile, near London....they have local grocers that you order from. For a small fee, your food delivery comes to your home on a truck - all neat and fresh. My cousin lives there and says it is the freshest, basic food. They have very few junk foods. No marshmallows or other sugary snacks. I would imagine one of those delivery services knows exactly where to find sugarfree bacon and sausages. I bet if you called Prince William or Harry up, they could help you. They do seem like nice chaps.
