Encouragement for athletes

My wife and I are on day 9 of Whole30, and while she was 100% committed from start, I was a bit concerned because I'm an avid weight lifter.


My workouts for the first week really suffered (which is probably why it's recommended to take a break while getting acclimated to Whole30). My head was cloudy, I was in a bad mood for about 3 days, and I was craving everything sugary. Looking back, I should have just taken a break.


However – things clicked for me on day 6, and now my workouts are back to normal-ish. It seems I have endless energy, even though my strength is probably at 95%. I'm sure that'll improve.


Anyway – just a quick word of encouragement for athletes who are considering Whole30 and might have some reservations.
