WholeSarah
I found out about the Whole30 from someone I was following on Instagram and was intrigued. After doing some research I think it's something I want to do. I'm just really nervous about whether or not I'll make it through the thirty days, and how I will feel in that time. I have two little boys, 4 and 2. My husband and the boys will not be joining me on the Whole30, so I worry that preparing food for them that I cannot eat myself will be difficult. The boys are picky eaters and my older son has a tree nut allergy so I don't see this working out for them. I also worry that I will be so cranky from my restricted eating that I will take it out on them. I weigh 95 lbs and I'm about 5 feet tall. I've always been slim but I've also always had a little belly that I'd love to be rid of. Im also perpetually exhausted and have strange aches and pains, so this seems like a great way to potentially get rid of all of that. Any advice or experiences would be appreciated! GlennR
*Grin* It's not a final exam. Dive right in. When you have questions, or if things get tough or you feel unsure or disheartened, post in one of these forums. You will get help and words of encouragement. Good luck! GoJo09
I would suggest just cooking all the main meals Whole 30, and then if they demand non-compliant sides, deal with that then - noone wants to be cooking multiple meals every night! Also, lots of people don't eat any nuts on Whole 30, by choice or by necessity, so that wouldn't be an issue.
Haren.13
My kids are doing this with me, and my middle child (4yo girl) has become much less picky! It's shocking! Not saying you have to have your kids join you, but wanted to give encouragement in case that's what you decide. We're 26 days in and at this point the only thing they lament is the lack of sugar :-) they didn't eat many sweets before, but apparently enough that they miss it! missmary
hello and welcome! you are going to do great, especially because you have "never dieted before" this is not a diet! Although it restricts what kinds of foods you eat, it doesn't restrict quantity. At 95lbs this is will be an important distinction for you. Eat enough at meals so you are not hungry at all between meals, and if you mis-judge, eat a small "mini-meal" of protein, fat and vegetables when you do get hungry. Same for the kids. here is the meal template, that's the minimum you should be eating: http://whole9life.com/book/ISWF-Meal-Planning-Template.pdf
