Can't search for 3-letter word: gum!

I'm trying to search before posting a question, as we are asked to do. But the search feature in the forum says I have to use words that are four letters or more! I'm trying to find info on chewing gum. I know it's "not allowed" but I want to ask people what they do instead. Why is search limited to 4+ letters? This seems weird. There are plenty of 3-letter words that people may want to search on, e.g., soy, ham, gum, etc.

Thanks, Derval. The second one basically answered my question as far as chewing gum when it's just after a meal and I can't brush my teeth wherever I am. I usually chew one piece to freshen my breath but that's not a must-have. But the real problem when i do my Whole30 (haven't started yet, just preparing now), is that I also take several medications that give me horrible dry-mouth so I chew gum, twice a day, when I am out walking the dog. I can't carry a water bottle because my hands are full with leash and flashlight as it's late at night. So a piece of gum helps keep my mouth moist. Any ideas?
