LisaLulu
What's the consensus on palm oil? Good or bad? I buy plantain chips to dip in my guacamole and they are fried in palm oil.
GlennR
Palm oil is okay as an ingredient; chips, while they may be technically compliant, are frowned on.
LisaLulu
Yeah I knew chips were frowned upon. I made a judgement call based on the fact that I'm breastfeeding 4-6 times a day, already thin and wanting something to add on calories. I eat them with guacamole when I am still hungry after my mid day meal. They come in small individual bags so I never overdo them but it's nice to have something that isn't nuts of dried fruit to top off a meal that already contains a huge salad and meat and cooked veggies... Tina R
You may want to check if it is palm oil ( ok) or palm kernel oil ( not ok). Yes chips are not the best choice.
LisaLulu
The company website says 'pure palm oil'. I like these chips because they don't spike my blood sugar at all the way potato chips used to, I feel no negative consequences for them at all. I can see them being a problem for people who are trying to lose weight or curb binge eating though. I need all the calories I can get!
