Cinnaberry74
And NOT from U.S. Wellness Meats! LOL. I need to buy local and in stores (and less expensive). Their beef sticks look good, though. We are taking the family to Disneyland in 2 weeks, and I need to pack some stuff for myself to tide myself over. We'll be driving (about 5-6 hours), and will probably have one stop to eat (I plan In n Out for a plain, lettuce wrapped burger and unsweetened ice tea). Depending on our hotel room, I plan on either bringing or buying there some compliant foods to store. It's only for a weekend, with only one day at the park (one day driving, one day park, next day driving home.) I plan on plain salads, dry eggs and fruit, or fish (or meat, if possible) for eating out. I already am planning my speech to give at restaurants...lol. What is good and nonperishable, and can bring into the park? It'll be my 24th-26th Whole30 days, and I will NOT mess up! I am very lucky that I do not give in easily to cotton candy and funnel cake . I have my raw nut mix, dried fruit, and..... ?? I've never bought a Larabar before, either. TIA
GFChris
Some past relevant discussions here: - http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/1462-snack-ideas/ - http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/6390-help-with-non-refrigerated-mini-meals-aka-snacks/- http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/15025-ideas-for-packable-snacks/This Whole30 'what's in your cooler' article is a classic. http://whole9life.com/2011/07/whats-in-your-cooler/ Primal Pacs are also Whole30 approved. http://www.primalpacs.com/ I would check with Disney on what you're allowed to take into the park. Cinnaberry74
Do you know if any compliant jerky is sold in stores like Whole Foods or Sprouts? http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/harbour-galley/.%C2'>
Mom2A&M
I found Nik's sticks at my healthfood store (Fruitful Yeild). They are $2.69 each. Not cheap but compliant, potable and tasty.
cara123
Oh I'm going away over my day 25-27 so reading this with interest. Though a little jealous as you guys have snacks that we don't. For instance I'm yet to find compliant beef jerky in Australia ( mind you I have never eaten it so no idea if I like it lol).
EmayPA
Epic bars - all but the Bison ones are compliant, I believe. I've bought them in the local organic market, They're not cheap, but good to have in a pinch. You can get them on Amazon, too (even more pricey that way). Laur2014
My go to meal-to-go is canned tuna ( I get the kind that you can open without a can opener, check the ingredients!) and chopped up veggies in a zip lock bag. You can add nuts or avocado for fat.
