bahamabeauty
Whole30 Bahamas is taking off!!!!! A group of us here in The Bahamas have come together to start our Whole30 on May 28th. So there are 8 of us starting on May 28th, another 3 persons in the grouping are currently on their Whole30 and 2 more will be starting on June 1st and 2nd. We're all super excited - we have a private FB group for support, we've each 'liked' the Official Whole30 FB page and we have a whatsapp group for support as well. We will be meeting up tonight at a local Starbucks just to run through everything together as a group and then we'll be up and running on our Whole30 as of tomorrow morning. This is my 3rd Whole30 since March 18th and the results have been nothing short of astounding and can I tell you that Whole30 has changed my life and of critical importance, it has changed the relationship that I have with food. Persons who know me simply cannot believe the changes that I have made but its all for the best and I still enjoy food, I've only now learned to stop betraying my body by feeding it foods that have a negative or adverse effect on it. So that's it for now. Members of our grouping may be joining the forum and we are looking forward to an awesome time filled with loads of non-scale victories and delicious, healthy food!!! We'll check in with you guys every now and then to let you know about our progress!
GlennR
All right! Can't wait to read about your group's journey!
bahamabeauty
Thank you @GlennR. So Day 1 is complete and everyone weathered well, we supported each other and showed tough love when and where necessary. The "no snacking" concept was perhaps the biggest/toughest challenge yesterday. We're on Day 2 and its going well thus far!
bahamabeauty
Today is Day 7 of our Whole30 in The Bahamas and we have lots of questions and need help please so I'm looking forward to replies from the Advanced Members and Moderators. Question 1: What should we do about loss of appetite? It gives a tendency to want to eat 2 meals per day rather than 3. Question 2: How much water/fluids should we be consuming? Question 3: Should we drink before, during or after meals? I read that drinking during a meal may disrupt digestion - please verify. I think that's all the questions for now so I will wait for the replies. Thank you!

When you are changing your diet drastically the body finds all sorts of ways to fight back. My general advice is to create a minimum template meal 3x a day and eat it to the best of your ability starting within an hour of waking and than every 4-6 hours whether you are hungry or not. Your body needs the nutrition and powering through this will be rewarding. General advice on water is at least half your body weight in ounces. So a 200 lb person would drink 100 oz a day. I believe if you are active you would have more as you would be losing more water through sweat. I generally have found that avoiding drinking water during meals leads to better digestion. From what I've read drinking water will lower your stomach acid which you don't want to do while digesting. As far as time before and after, I would just say experiment with that. I do personally drink my coffee with my first meal and don't seem to have a problem with that but your mileage may vary.
