Guest
Hi all, on Sunday i ran a 10k race. Hit a PB despite having one arm in a sling. Since then I have felt really dizzy exhausted and out of sorts. Have been eating more to help refuel my body (all whole30 compliant) I am on day 21 of my whole30. Sounds silly but is my body struggling to recover and using up energy on my hand fracture? Any advice much appreciated. Hope this is the right forum Eating starchy veg with meals too.
jaskylu3
I know this sounds silly but.....maybe u are dehydrated? I have found that since I started this (day15) I have been super thirsty and last weekend I hiked all weekend with similar feelings of complete fatigue! ! I sat and drank almost a gallon of water and felt much better. I am sure someone will tell u more starchy veggies and mpre protein, and that may be true too. My son is seriously struggling with working out and feeling weak . We have tried all the suggestions to a tee....sometimes I wonder if serious athletes just need more, like rice or some kind of grain. I dont know.....but check your hydration! Moderators Tom Denham Posted May 28, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 28, 2014 What is going on is hard to say. Maybe your body is devoting extra energy to healing, maybe you need to drink more water, maybe you need more starchy veggies, maybe you have caught a bug after your period of out-performance. By the way, congrats on the PB. Note: Serious athletes eat all kinds of horrendous foods that do not help them perform better. Some think the foods they eat are important, some don't care and eat whatever they like. Our experience is that top levels of athletic performance on the Whole30 menu is relatively common. Rice and grains are convenient and common, but they are far from being superior sources of carbs.
GlennR
You drained your energy reserves. It's natural you're tired. Rest, refuel, recover.
