Minamyna
This is kind of a weird one. My hips and it band have been sore for almost 4 days. I have had some pain in my arms too. My neck has stiff for longer. If I take ibuprofen it goes away. I took a muscle relaxer, that didn;t help. I hav been carefully stretching everyday. That didn't help. I rode (horse) last Sunday, and I swam (20 minutes- medium intensity) last Tuesday. My veggies have been salad, avocados, sweet potatoes, green beans, brussel sprouts, and broccoli this week. There are some people who subscribe to the theory that people get fat to protect the body from toxins and that as I lose weight some of the toxins are released and have to work their out of the body. This is my husband's theory. I have eaten a few bananas this week. The sore painfulness feeling make it hard to sleep. Any thoughts?
GlennR
A couple of thoughts: Toxins do accumulate in fat, so there is something to your husband's idea that the more fat you lose, the more free toxins are floating in your system (until they are released from your body in different ways). These can certainly cause inflammations that may sometimes be painful. Also, Whole30 reduces your body's ability to recover from physical strain, at least in the beginning. This is one of the reasons why it is advisable to ease up on workouts at least for the first week or two. So it may be that your swimming and riding, even if these are normal activities for you, just took a heavier toll than usual.
Minamyna
Hmmm okay it is just very strange. Today, I tried to try and figure it out, it had been coming and going mostly in my left hip joint itself. It is so irritating. Right now it is PAINFUL, but about 2 hours ago I was fine.
