Hello!

I'm 23 and my husband is 32 and we are on day 2 of our whole 30. We have an 11 month old son and I want to get in better shape before trying to get pregnant again, hopefully soon :-) My husband has a lot of anxiety related stomach issues, sleep issues, seasonal allergies, and he can't gain weight. We are interested to see how he feels during the whole 30. I think I am too tired for my age and I get occasional migraines. I'm hoping to get more energy as I slay the sugar demon :(

Yesterday was pretty good, but I started to get a killer headache after dinner. This morning, I couldn't finish my breakfast of turkey sausage, eggs, and spinach & mushrooms :/ Husband is feeling pretty good :-)

Hi there,

I hope everything goes really well for you and your husband. It's lovely that you are doing it together and can support each other :)

I also started yesterday :)

I had been on a (quite extreme) diet, for the last 2 weeks, which was no sugar and lo-carb but included diet soft drinks, some crackers and artificial sweeteners and no fat. I was suffering from severe reflux and feeling really uncomfortable. Yesterday I decided to replace my lunchtime crackers with avocado (yumm) and I removed all of the diet soft drink and sweeteners and, hey presto, reflux is gone!! It also meant that I had eaten whole 30 compliant food all day and so I decided to also have a Whole 30 compliant dinner of pork chop, sweet potato and steamed zucchini, and carrots and still no reflux. So here I now am in day 2 of my first Whole 30 feeling great and hoping that as I have ready detoxed from sugar I will not suffer from any of the headaches that other people discuss (I did already have these on the other diet).

Hi There!

I had a pretty bad headache on the evening of day 1, but I am somewhat sensitive to weather, so it could definitely have been related to the storms we were having. Now I'm just tired!

I hope your transition goes smoothly! My husband has reported feeling better already, no blood sugar drops :-)

Sorry to hear you had a bad headache, hopefully it has now gone and you're feeling well. It's great that your husband is feeling good.

I'm working my way through day 3 and I'm feeling fantastic! The reflux is totally gone and absolutely no hunger at all. I've just finished my delicious lunch of last nights dinner left overs with half an avocado and a couple of slices of rockmelon. I'm finding that there is no hunger in between meals and I feel pretty satisfied all day long, so all is going really well here :)

Good for you! It is encouraging to see results so early :-)

I'm still nursing my son, though he is eating lots of solid food, so I'm still trying to figure out how much I should be eating. I'm also having a hard time eating such a big breakfast! I always eat breakfast, but it's hard to stomach so much at 7 am...

You guys are welcome to post in the june 1 support thread too! :-)

@historyjunkie, have you checked the whole 30 page for pregnant and breastfeeding mamas?

Thanks!

I have checked a bit. I am actually trying to wean, but I'm still nursing several times a day. Not sure where that puts me...
