heyheymamak
When I feel legitimately hungry, should I snack or try to hold out for the next meal? I'm finishing up day 2, and overall I feel great. However, I know we aren't supposed to snack but I'm finding myself hungry between meals and especially in the evening. I'm abiding by the recommended portion sizes. I suppose I should also mention that I'm very obese - should I be eating more than the meal planning template recommends? Should I just hold out and hope things even out so I can feel satisfied with just the three meals? Thank you for any help
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 8, 2014 It takes time to get to the place where you can comfortably live on three meals per day. We offer a test for knowing whether you are genuinely hungry. If you are hungry enough to eat steamed fish and broccoli, you are hungry and should eat. Feeling hungry between meals is a message that you need to eat more at your meals - probably more protein and fat, but maybe veggies. If eating more at each meal is difficult, you can eat 4 meals per day. I ate 4, 5, and occasionally 6 meals per day for a while until I got the hang of eating enough at each meal to be comfortable on 3 meals. Hang in there.
