Day 2, wanting to snack all the time

Recommended Posts

When I feel legitimately hungry, should I snack or try to hold out for the next meal? I'm finishing up day 2, and overall I feel great. However, I know we aren't supposed to snack but I'm finding myself hungry between meals and especially in the evening. I'm abiding by the recommended portion sizes. I suppose I should also mention that I'm very obese - should I be eating more than the meal planning template recommends? Should I just hold out and hope things even out so I can feel satisfied with just the three meals? Thank you for any help :)

It takes time to get to the place where you can comfortably live on three meals per day.

We offer a test for knowing whether you are genuinely hungry. If you are hungry enough to eat steamed fish and broccoli, you are hungry and should eat. Feeling hungry between meals is a message that you need to eat more at your meals - probably more protein and fat, but maybe veggies.

If eating more at each meal is difficult, you can eat 4 meals per day. I ate 4, 5, and occasionally 6 meals per day for a while until I got the hang of eating enough at each meal to be comfortable on 3 meals. Hang in there.
