Sheilaann
My husband and I have just completed our first week on the Whole 30. He has been advocating the Paleo plan for the past two years, and I've been "following" it while slowly gaining some weight. My sugar addiction was really bad and I sort of lead him down the slippery slope of self delusion. We decided to get serious and do a Whole 30 to detox our bodies. The first week has been difficult and not. There are times when my sweet tooth is screaming at me, but I know it's just a part of the detox process. I've been searching for good, healthy recipes that are Whole 30 compliant, and our local produce stand has become our go-to spot for farm-fresh veggies and fruits. The internet is chock full of great resources, so we haven't lacked for great meals - last night was burger-stuffed Delicata Squash with a green salad and homemade Ranch dressing. Yummy ! We still crave something sweet in the evenings, but we're getting past that with some fruit, coconut cream, or a small smoothie on occasion. We've committed to staying the course and know we'll come out the other side of this healthier and happier. One week down and three to go!
Moderators Tom Denham Posted June 9, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 9, 2014 The burger stuffed squash sounds great. By feeding your craving for something sweet by eating fruit, coconut cream, or a small smoothie, you are keeping your sugar dragon alive and powerful. The best practice with sugar dragons is starving them to death. Your current practice means you will have a fully intact sugar dragon at the end of 30 days.
