kriege
What would you order off this menu? http://www.luckyssteakhouse.com/dinnermenu.htm This will be my first time eating out on my Whole30 and I'm not really sure where to start…not a huge fan of salads, so I'm thinking a sirloin steak with grilled onions and mushrooms, with veggie sides, but what questions do I need to ask about preparation? I really don't want to mess up, so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
GlennR
I think the major one is what oils they may use in grilling or cooking the veggie sides. You know the compliant ones. Canola, sunflower, and safflower are also permissible (though not the best). Something like peanut oil is a no-no. Another one is what's in the steak marinade (if any). Soy sauce, for example, is not compliant. Ask if they can just season with salt and pepper (which is all a steak needs, really). Other than that, if the only other ingredients are the meat and veggies, you're good to go. EDIT: Oh, and check the veggie dressings if any! Delaine Ross
You can order your steak "dry" Also, the salmon (sans dill sauce) and the crab legs (sans butter) seem like they would be ok. Sometimes I call ahead and ask half of the questions so I don't overwhelm the server
