globee
I have not eaten wheat for almost a year now. On Saturday night I ate 2 pieces of sourdough bread and woke up at 2 am with cramps, bloating and the feeling of wanting to vomit. All day Sunday I felt drowsy, foggy and lethargic. 3 days later I feel better, but still bloated and have diarrhea (tmi, sorry) . Could having just those 2 pieces of bread make me that sick? If so, was a good lesson on what I can and cannot tolerate. I know I can;t eat any dairy for the same reason. Thanks for the feedback!
pjena
It could be the bread, but it could also be something else you ate that had gone bad or a stomach bug. I wouldn't go test it out, but if it happens the next time you come across a worth it bread situation, you can probably assume it's bread.
JJB
Do you have any history of issues with gluten? That sure seems extreme. I went 6 months without wheat and recently had both a huge biscuit and a piece of cake in the same day...I didn't have any negative symptoms at all. missmary
I will react noticeably to a small amount of gluten, so I think this is possible. Jen's approach seems like a good one to me.
