Ate some bread and been sick for 2 days

I have not eaten wheat for almost a year now. On Saturday night I ate 2 pieces of sourdough bread and woke up at 2 am with cramps, bloating and the feeling of wanting to vomit. All day Sunday I felt drowsy, foggy and lethargic. 3 days later I feel better, but still bloated and have diarrhea (tmi, sorry) :o 

 

Could having just those 2 pieces of  bread make me that sick? If so, was a good lesson on what I can and cannot tolerate. I know I can;t eat any dairy for the same reason.

It could be the bread, but it could also be something else you ate that had gone bad or a stomach bug.  I wouldn't go test it out, but if it happens the next time you come across a worth it bread situation, you can probably assume it's bread.

Do you have any history of issues with gluten? That sure seems extreme. I went 6 months without wheat and recently had both a huge biscuit and a piece of cake in the same day...I didn't have any negative symptoms at all.
