Metallic taste in mouth?

I have not experienced it, but I know that it can be a side effect of some medications. Perhaps your body is "detoxing" from something you are taking now, or have taken in the past? Probably not serious and will go away in a day or two. Perhaps there are some Dr. types here who will know better than I do? :-)

Anybody experience ketosis? I have a sweet metalic taste in my mouth. It is horrible. I am on day 9. Any suggestions?

Ketosis isn't very likely during the whole30 unless you are underrating vegetables. As snowflower suggests, it is pretty easy to remedy by adding a bunch back in. We don't encourage anyone to restrict carbs to the extent that ketosis would happen during the whole30.

A metalic taste can also come from heavy-metal detox, which could be a good thing. If that's the case, drinking more water can help and oil pulling, which involves swishing a teaspoon of oil (coconut is ideal) around in your mouth for a while (up to 20 minutes if you can stand it) then spitting it out*. Oil pulling is good for oral health in general and will pick up those molecules of metal which you can taste. Swish with water right afterwards.

*spit into the trash. this stuff will clog up your drains after a while  :)
