Kmlynne
I have not had very good luck finding compliant bacon. I had found some at the beginning of my first w30, but the store no longer carries it. My budget does not allow for shipping. I have found many DIY bacon sites, but am wondering if anyone has tried it themselves - what has worked, what hasn't? CAK911
We DIYd some once or twice. It seemed pretty fool proof overall. You can also just get fresh pork belly and cook it more or less like bacon, if you want less fuss.
peacefrog
We get pork belly, slice it thin, salt it, and then freeze it until we want to use it. Tastes very close to bacon, IMHO. Yummy.
MeadowLily
Through trial and error, we've found out that freezing bacon does not keep it from spoiling. We bought several #'s for the freezer and had to throw all of it out. The frozen bacon seemed to spoil at twice the rate of the regular fridge.
