Enough!
Today for lunch I had a salad of romaine, celery, carrot, radish, beets, walnuts, avocado and grilled chicken dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. After I finished my meal I was hit with terrible fatigue. I think it was a good mix of veggies, fat and protein, but am I getting something wrong? Or is this a sign that my system is so out of whack that it doesn't know what to do with good food? I'm confused!

Moderators ShannonM816 Posted June 18, 2014 Moderators Share Posted June 18, 2014 It looks like, from your previous posts, that you're only on your second or third day now? If that's correct, being tired is pretty normal at this stage. Especially if you previously ate lots of sugary, high carb stuff. If you haven't read It Starts With Food yet, you should -- it goes into a lot of the whys behind the rules in the program and goes more in depth into how food affects different hormones and such. One thing it talks about is that you are trying to transition from getting your energy from carbs to getting your energy from fats. If you previously ate high-carb foods, your body was using those for energy because that's what was easiest. It will take a little while, but your body will transition to using fat for energy. Until that kicks in, you'll probably have a few days of feeling tired.
Enough!
Thanks, Shannon. Yes, this is only Day 3 for me. I am reading the book but not all the way through yet.
