Whole30 Beginner
I'm eating what seems like to be a lot and I am still feeling hungry afterwards. Any suggestions, ideas, advise on why this could be happening? Meals Today: Breakfast: eggs, ground turkey, broccoli, half an avocado Lunch: a good portion of the Chocolate Chili from Well Fed, some broccoli and the other half of an avocado
JJB
How was your diet before? Maybe you are just craving bread or sweets or something else you have given up. How much broccoli are you eating? Standard suggestion is 2-3 cups per meal. Maybe you need to load up on more veggies.
Whole30 Beginner
My thoughts were maybe I need more veggies so you could be right. I don't think my broccoli servings have been 2-3 cups, maybe more like a cup. I will try that tonight. Thanks!! =)
Tina R
You may need to increase your carbs. Depending on what your diet was before you might have been eating 300 grams of carbs a day and are now eating less than 50. Try adding some starchy veggies to your meals like sweet potato, carrots, beets, turnips, rutabaga, squash. See if this helps. Also make sure you are drinking 1/2 your body weight in oz of water each day. Sometimes we think we are hungry when we are dehydrated. Good Luck! Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 1, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 1, 2014 When you are first getting started, your body may be hungry for the nourishment that real, whole foods provides and you may need to eat more for a while until your body is satisfied. For that matter, it is not unusual to be hungrier some days than others. The composition of your meals sound good and it is okay to add more protein, fat, and veggies. And I agree that you may need to focus on upping the veggie volume.
