jorpes
What "fast food" places are ok to eat at and what can you eat? Day 1 and I'm stressing about dinners!
Moderators ultrarunnergirl Posted July 8, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 8, 2014 There aren't many. Really the best approach is to call ahead and ask what you can have based on your restrictions.
nlprice
Carnitas at Chiptole are cooked in sunflower seed oil. That's the best one I can think of. Then you can get your guac and whatever veggies you want.
Vmorris7
I heard that the veggies are also grilled in soybean oil. So go with the Carnitas, lettuce, guac and pico. Maybe just double the meat and Guac.
bede0713
That's true, if you check on their site you'll see the veggies are cooked soybean oil. You can get carnitas, lettuce, guac and non corn salsas. I did this about two weeks ago and it just wasn't worth it for me - I like to pack my lunches now(!) I also felt puffy all day like what I did have was filled with sodium but maybe that's just me.
Vmorris7
I contacted Ted's Montana. There beef is Certified Angus Beef. Www.certifiedangusbeef.com. They are grass feed up until 3 months before butchering then they feed them grains to produce marbling. They said they cook their beef and burgers in a 75% Canola/25% Olive Oil Blend. So I ate ther last Night (day 5). I had a bison filet with a baked sweet potato and sliced tomatoes. The sweet potato plain was so delicious and the bison steak very yummy. I'm hoping that their bison are roaming wild and eating grass too. Does anyone know about their bison?
Laura Wittke
Farm Burger has good choices, locally sourced. Not everything on the menu is Whole 30-friendly but you can get grassfed beef patty, salad and sometimes the sides. Ask before getting the collards I'm pretty sure they put sugar in them.
