Jennifer Lella
Question: Normally, when I am on antiobiotics, I would increase my yogurt intake to make up for anything healthy that is killed in the process. Since I'm starting my Whole 30 today, what are some ways to do that without the dairy. Would anything fermented, like saurkraut, do the trick? Physibeth
Yes fermented veggies like raw sauerkraut (not the stuff in a can...the stuff in the refrigerated section). Kombucha is another good way to get probiotics. Just make sure you get a brand that doesn't add sugar in the 2nd ferment. GT is a good brand. Moderators Tom Denham Posted July 14, 2014 Moderators Share Posted July 14, 2014 I prefer to get my probiotics from food like sauerkraut, kimchi, and kombucha and I used to say I had never found a probiotic pill that did not cause me more trouble than it was worth. However, I have found that Prescript-Assist works for me and I take a round of it whenever I have to be on antibiotics.
