Janine S
So, I was riding high last night. My family is not doing the whole30 with me, and this has not been an issues, I have made wonderful meals, and have had great success with planning and shopping. Last night my husband wanted pizza, my ultimate "gateway" food! I can not stop eating it! So I held strong and order sausage peppers and onions. I thought I made the correct decision, until this afternoon. I am afraid that the sausage might have had filler that was gluten based!!!!! My stomach is going through evacuation drills! Does anyone think this could be the cause of my discomfort? I have not had anything out of the ordinary, eggs, sweet potatoes, peaches, Primal pac, and last night the sausage peppers and onions no bread. I was so darn proud of my self for not eating the pizza that I did not think of the ingredients in the sausage.....ughhhhh. I have been so diligent in my looking too!!! totally BUMMED out. (could my stomach issue right now just be a reaction to too much salad?) I have not had this issue since I started!!! and I have felt wonderful until today! janine
Derval
I'd say it was the sausage nearly every sausage I check has either wheat crumbs (the gluten free ones have gluten-free crumb!) or sometimes oats and that definitely would cause your tummy to revolt. Sorry, sausages are something I would only eat at home so I can be sure.
Janine S
Thanks! I am just not into fish. Not many options when ordering out. Now I know to just stick to making my OWN meals. The positive thing I am taking away from this...becuase I refuse to be let this get me down! is that now I know what it feels like and I like feeling GOOD!!! Onward with the Whole30!! Thanks! for your response!
Janine S
so should I start tomorrow as my day one again? I am so bummed that I thougth i was staying away from the obvious gluten....and it snuck up on me. You have to be super diligent!!
Colleen Roy
I would say that you should only "start over" if you are doing the whole30 due to allergies or food issues. You can also just continue on the whole30 and add a few days on the end-like you said, you like how you feel, so adding a few days on the end won't be very hard! You are right about having to be diligent. You did well saying no to pizza-pat yourself on the back for that one! Think how much worse you would feel if you had eaten pizza!? Renee Kosowan
I would start over. A big portion of the whole30 is healing your insides. Any little slip like gluten can tear holes in your intestines (hence the pain and sick feelings). Now you can make the whole 30 that much better by really watching the 'hidden glutens and dairy additives'. Good luck
Renee Lee
If it had been sugar, I'd say to let it go, but gluten's such a big deal, you really need the full 30 day reset
