Danielle Schwartz 8
Anyone awake yet? During the week, I'm up early and out the door at 5:45 for a 6:00 workout. Usually I have a hard boiled egg, as it's the easiest thing to eat when there's limited time. Anyone have suggestions for a few other things to put in the mix? Ideally, anything I can "grab & go." Also, what should a pre-workout meal consist of: just protein or protein + carbs? In my pre-Paleo life, I always thought a banana was the ideal pre-workout snack. Thanks! befabdaily 447
Round here they say protein and fat before, protein and carb after. The meal before can be little and just signals your body to expect activity. I never get tired of eggs (mmm, eggs) so I'm probably not the best person to be giving you ideas. I try to always have some roasted chicken cooked up and I usually just eat a bite or two of that, and after, add part of a sweet potato.

Ashley Tanner 0
I'm not sure if you're having fruit but 1/2 an apple with a generous spoonful of almond butter works great for me! Have a good workout :-)
Danielle Schwartz 8
Ashley - I'm having fruit but I'd rather not have it first thing. Trying to follow the protein + fat rule of thumb for pre-workout. But apple + almond butter is definitely one of my go-to snacks.
