dks
Starting the Whole30 today. If you're starting today, then come along for the ride. This is my second Whole30, the first one went pretty well. Last night I bought a ton of good groceries and I cooked up some chicken thighs for lunch today, and this morning I had some fried eggs for breakfast, and a small banana. Put a 3 pound tri-tip roast in the slow cooker so the wife and I'll have some beef for tonight and throughout the week. -Daniel
HilaryD
This is my second time around as well. I've got a pork roast in the slow cooker as we speak and I am looking for buddies who are doing it too! Started yesterday though My first one was amazing, but I know the hard part will be the booze! have fun and check in!
dks
So far so good. The roast came out wonderfully. For me, not drinking booze isn't fun, but it isn't hard. It's lunch that's the hardest. I can control what I eat for breakfast and dinner at home, but I don't generally bring a lunch to work. So it's 30 days of packing leftovers, and prepping lunches. Also, I have to do a fair amount of business lunches (I know, I know, woe is me ) and those can be hard, as I have to eat out.
dks
Again, I'm rockin it today. Ground beef and mushrooms for dinner, only snacked a little on some mango after dinner. Eggs for breakfast.
melbournegirl
I'm off to a slow start with not enough veges and having dried fruit and nuts for snacks... But I'm happy to be leaving the biscuits and lollies alone after a stint of poor eating! Hoping this will fix itself in another day or two. Derval
Well it won't fix itself, but you can choose to fix it Have a great W30!
dks
6 days in and going strong. Had a tough moment when we we're out running errands and had lunch, there was only one item on the menu that I could eat. Other than that. Chowing my eggs for breakfast, black coffee and water at work, and packing lunches. Today I have a client lunch, again, we'll see what's on the menu. dks
Day 8 and I'm sailing. A little bit of cold / flu like symptoms. Unlikely to be due to carb flu, because I eat low carb anyways, so it may be that I actually am almost getting a cold, but not. Fried eggs in the morning, packing a lunch of leftovers (I'm actually saving money here, because I normally eat out every day for lunch) and making dinners. I feel like I'm slimming down a bit. I feel pretty good health wise. I'm still staying active, going to the gym, playing sports etc.
dks
Day 9, feeling good. Baked a whole chicken last night. Forgot to bring leftovers today, so will have to brave the wild of lunch out and about in the Fin Dist of SF, I should be fine
dks
Day 13! I went on a back packing trip. It was tough, but I stayed strong and did the best I could. I would say I did not violate the priniciples of Whole30 and did really well. Lot's of hardboiled eggs, cans of sardines, fruit and nuts.
