Any testimonials on how the Whole 30 helped with infertility?

I don't have any hard evidence of a Whole 30 helping fertility, but my experience leads me to believe it certainly can't hurt! While we did not experience infertillity, we tried for several months with no luck and conceived the month after I completed a Whole30. Sadly we lost the baby just before 7 weeks. Once given the okay to try again, another several months went by with no luck. This spring I did a Whole30 with my gym and pregnant the next cycle. I'm now almost 14 weeks and a believer in the Whole30. My gut tells me this was not just coincidence.

Congratulations!! That's absolutely amazing to hear and I'm sure your gut is right!

We have an amazing 5 yr old thanks to removing gluten from my diet. Within a week I felt SO much better. Within 2 mos we were preggers. We lost that baby but were successful again a few mos later and get to wake up to that miracle everyday. Good luck! It is so worth it. Stay clean during your pregnancy and enjoy every minute after. :)

I am currently on day 22 of my very first Whole 30, and just received a positive pregnancy test yesterday! It's still very early ( only 3 weeks) but I know that the Whole 30 had to have something to do with our success. We've been trying for about 7 months and my W30 month I ovulated almost a 3 days earlier and noticed some favorable symptoms ( egg white cervical fluid which I'd always looked for but never experienced until now). Admittedly I began W30 with the goal of pushing the reset button on my eating habits but for sure in the back of my mind I hoped it would help with our conception efforts. In fact my sister in law who is an OB/GYN was concerned that this eating change could be a detriment to our efforts and affect them negatively! But I trusted my gut and did it anyway. So glad I did! Maybe coincidence, but I think not. Best wishes in all of our endeavors!

After trying to get pregnant for 2 years, 1 year with a fertility specialist, I changed my diet. I didn't do a Whole30 at that point, but I cleaned up my diet removing all dairy, sugar, processed foods, and white flour. I got pregnant on my own 3 cycles later. Fast forward to when my baby was a year old, I cleaned up my diet once again and after 2 cycles of clean eating I got pregnant again. I am a firm believer in clean eating. (Even though my diet wasn't as strict as Whole30 was.) For me, it was so nice to focus all my energy and time on clean eating and put TTC on the back burner. I wasn't occupying all of my thoughts with baby and getting pregnant.

I had regular cycles, but didn't ovulate on my own and also suffer from enodmetriosis.

Good luck ladies.

We tried for 16 months to have our first child. I was diagnosed with PCOS and required extensive fertility testing and Clomid to finally get pregnant.  We started trying sooner rather than later for my son and it took 6 months, a miscarriage and Clomid to get pregnant with him.  In the beginning of 2014, we were unsure if our family was meant to have another person or not. So we decided that if God wants another kiddo in our family, He would do it without our help.

I'll be honest - I was pretty convinced it wouldn't happen and we would be moving on with our lives as a family of four.  I wasn't even really paying attention to my cycles anymore.

HOWEVER - because of the PCOS, prior to my first Whole30 in March, my cycles were 45-60 days long. My ob has assured me that when your cycle is THAT long, you are not ovulating.   Once I finished that Whole30 in March, my cycles changed to 28 days on the dot. But that was back in March/April and months went by and nothing happened. I figured that, while Whole30 was amazing to me in a lot of ways, fertility was not to be one of them.  I was ok with that. Like I said, I wasn't sure if our family was meant to be bigger or not.

I did approximately 3 weeks of Whole30 in September, just before my races. Apparently, that second round really kicked something into gear in my body because I got pregnant naturally, with no fertility interventions, in October.  For the first time in my life, I was SURPRISED by a pregnancy, something I never thought I would experience.

Whole 30 is my last shot! I have a 13 year old from my ex husband, but my current husband and I have been trying for 5 years with no luck. 3 IUI's and 1 Femara cycle with no luck, everything perfect between the two of us. A big fat "Unexplained Infertility". Encouraging to read these stories and hope this does it for us.

My friend tried for years to get pregnant, and then managed to conceive on day 80 of her "whole30" (she went way over 30 days :))  Now my godson really only likes paleo food which cracks us up, but there's nothing wrong with feeding them healthy right from the start.  Hang in there, ladies, I'm pulling for you!!!

I'm loving the success stories. I am starting today in what I hope to be a whole 60 which will take me up to just before my second attempt at ivf. The first attempt was pretty poor due to my advanced age. I had 5 eggs retrieved and only 2 fertilised, with only one being good enough to transfer. I hope I get a better response by eating well leading up to it. My diet before my first attempt was very carb/sweets laden. It is probably out of my control anyway but whats the harm. I completed a whole 30 in 2013 with great results with no baby unfortunately but I had blocked tubes so it wasn't the diet's fault.

Good luck x

Good lack ladies!  Trying to conceive is a pretty tough mental journey month after month.  I am a firm believer that W30 can only help your chances.  Hubs and I have been in treatment for months now.  Meds + IUI.  We've had a number of failed cycles.  I'm not currently doing a W30 but still eat paleo foods 90% of the time.  My big problem was always meal timing - I always skipped breakfast.   About a 6 weeks ago I read a success story on Marks Daily Apple about a young woman who was athletic and really thriving on a really high fat diet with GIANT breakfasts.  And I thought to myself, ok, lets do this (my goal at the time was weight loss).  So I got the closest to W30 as I've been since doing fertility treatments.  I'm eating dairy but get grassfed good cheese/butter.  Got our first BFP 3 weeks ago.  And currently have every finger, toe, etc crossed that this pregnancy sticks and grows into a healthy baby :)

I did a strict Whole 30+ in June/July.  Ate mostly compliant for the month of August.  And started a W30 again on September 1.  And 2 weeks ago I ovulated.  Only the second time I have ever ovulated without medical intervention.  DH was away, so we didn't get to take advantage, but I'm feeling confident it will happen again.  Hopefully a BFP will follow soon.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm so hoping to join you in your success, ladies! I just started on day 1 of my first whole30 today and will probably have an IUI a week from today.  I have been doing medicated cycles for 8 months now, have had one miscarriage, and one negative IUI.  I have endometriosis and PCOS. I have always been a pretty 'clean' eater, but i've never been gutsy enough to give up dairy, even though my acupuncturists always tell me it is a huge help to fertility issues. And let's be real - I never fully gave up sugar either, even though I kind of told myself I did.   So, I'm excited to finally try it in such a controlled way.  I'm also not doing caffeine for the same reason, so it's tough. But hopefully it will all be worth it!

Hi There. I have just joined this site.  My husband and I are going to start the whole30 on November 1st.  We are also trying for our second child.  We got pregnant quite easily with our first healthy boy.  I was 40.  Now I am about to turn 45 on Friday, and the change that I see, regarding struggles with fertility, is that I am 25 pounds heavier than I was when I was 40.  I have read so many blogs of women who lost 5 to 20 pounds and were able to get pregnant.

We have removed the dirty dozen, and eat non-gmo foods. I have tried to remove all wheat products and sugar, with occasional but consistent cheats.  I am excited to read some stories of people here! I am super stoked, but also a bit scared to start this program.  I have never been 100% disciplined when it comes to food.
