whiteducks4life
I have recently began Whole30 for the first time! Since I am new to this process I know I am going to have questions. My first being what are the best pre and post workout foods? I used to make whey protein shakes after work outs but that will change. I am curious to what everyone else does!! Any information will be greatly appreciated!
Auskid
I am half way through my Whole30 and had the same question when I started, until I read pages 242 & 243 of "It Starts with Food", several times! I usually have a handful of macadamia's or a boiled egg or half a seasoned avocado pre workout but only if it's early in the morning, otherwise I don't worry as I've already had a meal. Post workout, I have a small portion of chicken/pork/beef mince (whichever I've got ready to go in the fridge, usually leftovers) with a cooked spud or sweet potato. In saying that my workouts are for 1 - 2 hours most days and they are moderate - high intensity (Weights circuit/cycling/running.)
Moderators Tom Denham Posted August 11, 2014 Moderators Share Posted August 11, 2014 If you read through posts in the Whole30 for athletes section, you will find lots of discussion of this topic. Note: I am moving this post to the athletes section.
