Day 37 of Whole60+, OMG heartburn!!!

I really hope someone can help me out!

I had decided prior to completing Whole30 that I was going to extend for... Awhile. I had lost some good weight and had a lot of relief from digestive issues but was still feeling some chronic low back pain and not sleeping very well... Just kind of blah, and thought I could do better. On day 31, my husband cooked dinner. He wasn't paying attention and added honey mustard to some braised chicken thighs. Which was great, and I unknowingly ate two!

About 15 minutes later I started to feel ill, which transitioned into heartburn, which kept me up all night. That was Monday. It's now Wednesday night and I still have horrible heartburn. I have not reintroduced anything else (didn't intend to reintroduce the honey and sugar in the mustard...) so I have no idea what my problem is! Nothing in the mustard screamed gluten (I have been gluten free for years due to similar symptoms) and I have had the same mustard prior to my whole30 with no issues, so the sugar seems to be the only possible culprit.

Anyone have any insight on a) what's the deal and B) how do I make it stop!?

Was it pure sugar, or corn syrup?  If it was corn syrup, you could have a corn allergy.  You could also be having silent acid reflux from something else you are eating that, while compliant with whole 30, does not personally agree with you.  If you are having a constant low level of irritation, that bit of sugar could have sent you over the line into actively noticeable reflux.  Reflux is a vicious cycle.  You need to balance you stomach's PH to stop the problem, most times.  Try eating foods that lower your ph such as kale, and most other greens. If you you visit a holistic doctor, they can match you with the right type of probiotic for your specific needs. I speak from years of experience, including having my gall bladder out emergency two years ago.  I am brand new to the label Whole 30, but I have been eating this way for two years through my acupuncurist/naturopath.  I hope you feel better soon.  P.S> has anyone checked out your gall bladder?  Bad heartburn is the main symptom, and years of gluten intolerance is a main reason people have theirs stop functioning, so I've learned.

Thanks kristasellsluxury and Melbournegirl. Ingredients included sugar, brown sugar, honey, apple cider vinegar, and mustard. Not in that order. No corn syrup, I don't think. Also no other new foods I haven't had in the last 30 days, so I don't think it's anything else. I do eat lots of kale but I'll look into other ph balancing foods. I have suspected a gall bladder issue for years but am hoping this goes away with diet- it had for my entire immediate family, so stands to reason... Right?

Last night was bad but today seems better- maybe just needed some time. Shoot, who knew it was sugar all along?!
