Steph62996
I am on day 3 of my first Whole30. Prior to this, I ate a pretty healthy, gluten free, low-meat diet. I am finding that my Whole30 compliant meals feel so heavy! The good news is that I'm not hungry between meals, but I am wondering if this is a sign that I can cut back on some of the protein and/or fat I've been using. Other than that, things are going well - no headaches & lots of yummy food! Thanks! Stephanie
Carlaccini
Keep eating the way you are eating. If you are not hungry for 5 -6 hours after your first meal then you are golden. You have to learn to trust your saitiety signals. If you wish, you could post a couple of days worth of meals here for us to take a look at. This will give folks a better idea on what you are eating. missmary
I am finding that my Whole30 compliant meals feel so heavy! Can you give us an idea what you are eating? My meals don't feel heavy at all, and they are fully template compliant...but it took a while to get the balance right.

GoJo09
Maybe try dropping the fruit and starch at breakfast and top up with green vege and see how you go with that. What exactly do you mean by "heavy"? That you're over-full? Or you feel a bit sick afterwards? If you haven't been eating a lot of meat, you might try digestive enzymes to help your stomach adjust. little mighty
I know the feeling, and I have a couple thoughts. Firstly, it's still summer (more or less, depending on where you live!), so the body will naturally want more raw and cooling foods. Try eating more of your veggies raw and see if that feels less heavy. You could also do more no-cook (i.e. canned tuna + avocado lettuce wraps) or cooked + cooled meals (i.e. cold roast chicken instead of hot). missmary
yup, during the summer you might want more raw veggies and salads...you also might want to cut back a tiny bit on fat. Don't skimp on fat, but it looks like your veggie and meat preparations have quite a bit--if that feels to heavy simply cut back until you get to a point where you still make it from meal to meal but don't feel like it is too much. Some fat sources feel "lighter" to me than others, so you could experiment with that too. For example, I don't want an oily or creamy dressing on my giant lunch salads, but I'm perfectly happy to have a half of an avocado in there.
