msblackwell26
While I was talking with my friend a few days ago, she invited me to do the Whole30 program with her. She didn't say that much except for a few benefits she experienced the last time she did it. She didn't really sell it, you know what I mean? She didn't mention this website or anything but I said , "sure" anyway. I've been desiring some way to hit the reset button on my nutrition Especially after doing a lot of traveling this past year and eating more of the things I care not to. Two days later, today, I'm like nah I don't think I will do it. It will be to hard and I don't really know what I'm doing, I thought. I lacked inspiration. Though I didn't really want to give up on the idea before I even had a chance to start it so I googled Whole30 and I found this website, which considering this is the official website I should have.lol but I didn't know it even existed. All that to say, I am going for it. This is my commitment. I don't have much in my kitchen to clean out. I keep a small amount of groceries on hand, normally just enough for the week. So I am going to start Monday. Since I will do some planning today and maybe shopping tomorrow. Well, here I go. Here we go.
Ann@HowcrossCastle
Go for it! Make sure you look around the web site and read about the rules, and the Whole 30 meal template. Lots of people say they stocked up and prepared a lot of food before Day 1. That was not my experience. I bought eggs, fresh veggies, coconut oil, fresh fruit, and organic ground beef. I read the web site, and the book, "It Starts With Food," and now I go to the grocery store every other day or so, on my way home from work, mainly for veggies. Oh, I should also say that for nearly a year before I started the W30, I was eating lots and lots of toast, and two to three bags of jelly beans a day. Seriously. Throw in the occasional pizza, chik-fil-a, and fast food, and that was my sugar-laden diet. I started the W30 and made sure I ate a lot at all three meals, especially veggies at breakfast, and I have not had any cravings... this is Day 38, I think (I'm going for 60 days). Have fun! Ann@HowcrossCastle
Here are some links: The W30 rules: http://whole30.com/whole30-program-rules/ The W30 daily email. I found this very useful. It costs $15.00 and for me it was totally worth it: https://daily.whole9life.com/ And here's a good tip: the very best way to find anything on the W30 web site and these forums is to type into google: Whole30 <what you are looking for> for example, whole30 bacon. ann
AuntJane
Good luck, msblackwell! You can do this! I didn't plan too much before diving in either. I had read the website a few months ago and was already familiar with the concept, but just not desperate enough to do it until last week. I have never kept many groceries on hand and still don't, mainly because I'm eating so many fresh foods now, I don't want anything to go bad before I get to it. I agree with Ann that the 30 day emails are so worth it. Lots of helpful information and it's really gratifying to click on the "I did it" link at the end of every day.
