AndrewL
Hi, I am 15 days in to my Whole30 and I have had a cold for the past 5 days. As I am on the Whole30 program I have tried not to use any medication for headaches, blocked sinuses, etc. But it is really slowing me down now. Is it ok on the Whole30 to take Cold & Flu medication like Codral? Thanks! Andrew
Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 12, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 12, 2014 It is okay. I take Tylenol when I have a headache. I think a warm shower may be the best thing you can do for congestion. I am not convinced that meds help much with being stopped up.
MrsStick
Saline nose sprays/nose washes are great for helping open up congested sinuses when you're sick. Bonus when using them is that there are no limits on how often you can use them like there are with normal meds, so whenever they stop helping, just go do it again and enjoy breathing. PLUS they don't dry your nose/sinuses out so that breathing hurts. You can get a little bottle of saline nose mist stuff at the drugstore for a dollar or two, and they last FOREVER. AndrewL
Thanks guys - agree that medications don't solve the issue and preference is not to take anything - I am just battling with a big workload and Cold&Flu pills definitely make the head feel better for the time being!
