Katrina Aura
Hello! This is my first post. I'm gathering ingredients and freezing all kinds of meals, hoping to start my challenge soon! (I'm doing it with my bf and our 14 month old will be too, since he eats what I eat.) Anyways, today at whole foods I found bacon brined with apple cider, no sugar! Is that OK? Is cider cool? The bacon is new, I can barely find info online about it. It's made by Vermont smoke and cure. (Which is nice because I live in mass, so it's sorta local.) http://www.vtsmokeandcure.com/New-Cider-Brined-Low-Sodium-Bacon-nid-45.html There is the product's web page. Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 13, 2014 What matters is the ingredients listed on the label. This product shows promise, but you have to check that label. The marketing hype can lead you astray.
fgermain
Yes, cider is ok. Just be sure they aren't using a "sciencey" word for sugar. I hope my WF in Seattle has that bacon! Enjoy!
