Ginsky
I know the roots are on the no list and the greens are on the yes list for Low FODMAP but I'm not sure if the stems are considered part of the greens or where they would stand on that list. Obviously I avoid them in the absence of the answer but would like to know for sure. Are beet stems low fodmap friendly just like the beet greens? I have searched and failed to find the information and am wondering if anyone knows the true answer to the stems question and could share the info and source. That would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 13, 2014 I am not a FODMAP expert and have no expertise in the matter. However, my thought is that beet stems are more like greens that beet roots, so I would say they are okay.
melbournegirl
Stems would be considered part of the greens... It's unlikely they would be separated from the leaves in normal consumption.... Fodmap tolerance is a spectrum so the main test is do you feel okay when you eat them?
