Starting W30 Monday, September 15th

I was recently diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer and had surgery last Monday to remove the whole gland (and ping-pong sized tumor). This was an eye opener for me as I have a love for all foods bad for me, and now that I will have a harder time with metabolism and energy levels (managed only by hormone replacement), I want to be sure I am no longer a stumbling block to my own health. I changed my lifestyle about a year ago to follow a plan very similar to W30, but my goal was short term and I didn't prepare a "failure plan" for when I reached my goal and rewarded myself with a week long vacation with no dietary rules. I can remember how great I felt and how clear my mind was - this along with improving the health of me and my family will be what motivates me to push through the next 30 days. And, of course, I hope with the encouragement of this community.

you are a warrior and this is the perfect community for our disease. I had my TT back in Dec 20. And Paleo, whole9, whole 30 is the way to go dietary wise, gluten, soy, sugar free will make you recover faster and feel the best. I am here for you, WE ARE SURVIVORS! You got this!

I also started on September 15th.  I have been dieting for the past 10 years and always wind up gaining it all  back and more.  Now in my mid 50's I am starting to have some health problems that i know changing my eating habits will help.  I plan on staying on this program for 90 days to make sure I lose my old habits and start new ones.  I want to lose the 9 month pregnant look and stay that way.  Good luck I'll watch for your post as the days progress.  Day one went ok.  My husband did notice that I was a bit snippy with him after dinner.  Must be because I'm not having my usual glass of wine.
