h e a t h e r
I am not sure which forum this fit best in (Meal Planning, Travel and Dining Out, or here), so I ended up putting it here since I need help. I am going to a fundraising event on Day 21 of my Whole30 with 3 lovely ladies who I have known for a lifetime. They do not know that I am doing a W30, and they wouldn't necessarily understand it, either. Normally this would be an evening of wine, and junky appetizers, and lots of laughs. It will last from 6 until 10 or 11, and I would love to be able to bring food to eat that is suitable for sharing if anyone wishes to, and that would not alienate me, or make me feel like the weirdo who can't eat anything. After searching, I did find some ideas for things to bring that I could loosely fit into the template (sparkling water with olives, deviled eggs, baba ganoush with veggies) so I would be able to eat socially, but I was wondering if anyone had any other ideas or suggestions that could help. I have been gluten-free for a year and a half, and completed my first W30 earlier this year. Sometimes the feeling that I can't eat what "normal" people eat is overwhelming. Moderators Tom Denham Posted September 16, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 16, 2014 Normal people are slowly, but surely dying with what they eat. I don't want to be normal.
leahcarn
If I were you, I'd bring a savory dish (like devilled eggs), a sweet dish, like a fresh fruit platter, and a drink. Bring plenty of each so that you can share with everyone, as 'normal' people seem to LOVE our food. Also, eat a large dinner before you go
