Joe White
So we had a frozen pork loin in the freezer prior to our start (now on day 5). I went to defrost because it doesn't list any other ingredients other than pork, but then on the front of the package I see in small print "May contain 12% solution for enhancement" with no other information. Has anybody ran across this? I went to the grocer and it looks like a lot of pork products have this "solution enhancement" label. Anyone know what that solution consists of, and is it compliant? Rocket
I have never heard of such a thing until today! With some googling I came across these two sites.... http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/enhancedmeat.html http://www.themeatsource.com/enhancedpork.html It looks like the solution could just be brine, but it could also be a mixture of non-compliant things. Joe White
Thanks. The short answer is it's not worth the risk then.
