Coffeeandshoes 77 Posted September 20, 2014 I've been trying to decide if I want to do AIP now, or wait until January, I'm better doing whole30, but not great and not really weight loss. If it takes 90 days before reintroduction, that would take up my birthday and Christmas. Keeping whole30 compliant when eating out, etc, isn't always easy so I'm thinking it might be easier to wait til January?
Deb. 1928 Posted September 21, 2014 AIP is way harder than W30 when eating out. I just did this holiday post and note that the Hartwigs actively advise against trying to do W30 during the holidays. http://forum.whole9life.com/topic/21244-dirty-30-821-start/?p=232353 It really depends how serious your condition is, and how soon you need to start your healing. I am on a years long journey with AIP so it will be AIP holidays for me! 1 MeadowLily reacted to this
Coffeeandshoes 77 Posted September 24, 2014 Exactly, because you need to do AIP for at least 3 months before adding things back in? my condition is "not serious" in that it was caught pretty early. I'm trying to sort through thyroid vs adrenal fatigue. And one thing I know for sure, without gluten I don't hurt and I am so much more flexible. and seasonal allergies gone. Also, there is never a "good time" it's always someone's birthday. I'm going to make my own birthday cake/dessert so it is compliant.
Deb. 1928 Posted September 25, 2014 Its true, there is never a good time. Sometimes you just have to do it. Have you read this: http://thyroidbook.com/ Six weeks is the minimum recommended time for AIP. I know people who have not seen real results for 8 months to a year. Its a real commitment to your health and healing. 1 MeadowLily reacted to this
Coffeeandshoes 77 Posted September 30, 2014 See I was thinking it was three months, and not sure if I would "feel" any different
Deb. 1928 Posted September 30, 2014 Healing your gut to reset a body with auto immune issues is not a quick fix. But its well worth the effort.
