Guest sareemaree
Hello, My birthday is this Friday and my partner is taking me to a local steakhouse that we both like very much. I have already called ahead and confirmed that their kitchen does not use any soybean or peanut oil (I said I was highly allergic to both so I trust their answer!), and while they do use butter I can request that they do not for my meal. Here is a link to their menu: http://cut432.com/menu/dinner/ I was planning on starting with raw oysters, and then having the six-ounce filet with sides of asparagus and either kale or brussels sprouts (I think pancetta is compliant, right?). The sauces all have butter except the chimichurri, so I will either have that or just enjoy my steak bare. What do you think??
Physibeth
Sounds like a good plan to me. Another question you might want to ask (if you have not already) is if they use any sort of flour on their steaks to get them browned. This is more common than you would think. Also ask about any seasonings they use to ensure they don't have sugar, msg, etc.
