Hi all,

I'm on Day 8 and feeling sore, tired, and bloated. Hmmm....so thought maybe I should be journaling this food to help pin point where I might be messing up.

Here's what I had yesterday

Day 7

Breakfast

3 eggs scrambled with yellow squash, onion, half orange pepper, carrots (can't remember if I put spinach in, but I think so).

Frozen Berries with Coconut Milk (Post WOD)

Lunch

Creamy Chicken Tomoato "Soup" Crockpot recipe I made the other day. It had thickened up so I threw it on top of fresh spinach with half avocado and tomatoes.

Picked up a Iced Americano from Starbucks and added Cocunut Milk to it. Didn't drink hardly any of it. Brought it to work with me this morning

Dinner

Well Fed Chili with half Avocado and the Cauliflower recipe that is in the Well Fed book

I know I grabbed a few strawberries throughout the day, which hasn't been typical of me. I'm really trying to watch my fruit intake b/c before going W30, fruit was very much a "SWYPO" type of thing. I've cut bananas out 100%, I think they are just too much of a sugar trigger for me. I also have a huge love for almond butter, so have cut that down as well. I think I've had 1 tablespoon in 7 days.

Last Friday's WOD has left me very sore and I'm still recoverying from that I think. I had a rest day on Saturday and planning a rest day today. I have lower back/hip issues so really have to watch that as well.

Anyways, I'm excited to keep a journal of my foods on here. Not sure why I'm so bloated today.

Thanks

Danielle

Thanks Renee!

Ok today was TOUGH!! My mood was all out of wack basically from the moment I had to climb out of bed at 4:15am. Just in a funk over a lot of little things. Could tell I was irritable. Then found out a friends husband fell 15-20 feet at work and is unresponsive and in a coma. Very sad. I'm not close to the family but my heart just breaks for them.

Breakfast (about 5:30am)

3 scrambled eggs with sautéed veggies in coconut oil

1/2-3/4 cup of berries with 1/2-3/4 cup coconut milk (this was at 9am)

Lunch

Beef mushroom stew from OMGPaleo website

Green beans

Nursed that iced coffee all morning.

Napped with my daughter for hour during rain storm today, pure bliss ;)

Dinner

I have been planning for 2 days to make these chicken nugget things hoping it would be a meal all 3 of us would eat but hubby threw me a curve ball and really wanted Mexican! Really of all days, today?! So I had same thing for dinner that I had for lunch yesterday

Bed of spinach (could have used more but only had about 1 1/2 cup left)

Creamy crock pot chicken on top with half avocado and tomatoes

When we got home I had about 1/2 cup frozen berries with about 2 teaspoon coconut milk. Is was an emotional snack, in a funk all day and then got to watch family eat mex while the owner of the restaurant grilled me on why I wasn't eating. We live in a small town and frequent this mex place so know the owner fairly well.

It's almost bed time and I feel....fat! Haven't been on the scale the whole time on W30, however I did measure my waist the other day out of curiosity. Results were fine, but know I need to not do that again.

Oh ya, did not WOD today, rest day

Thanks for listening to my rambles :). Hoping for a better day tomorrow, emotionally.

Morning! Hope everyone is having a great weekend! My day was exhaustingly busy yesterday so didn't get on to put my food up last night. So here is my

Day 10

Breakfast

Leftover Beef Mushroom Stew (there was not enough of this for a serving, but I was in a hurry and was out of other prepped food :(

Grabbed a few bites of a vegetable but don't remember what it was, lol.

Lunch

Popped open 2 jars of winter squash baby food and cooked up some sausage to through in it. It was surprisingly good with just coconut milk added!

Dinner

We went out again to eat (boo...I'd rather stay home, lol). I had salmon and they cooked it lightly in EVOO. After taking one green bean into my mouth I could tell there was butter on them (though they were suppose to be none), so I didn't eat those. I did have a side salad with no dressing.

When I got home I had about 1/4-1/2 frozen berries with 2 spoons of coconut oil. Wanted to grab a veggie but was too exhausted to prep any.

Got a Iced Americano from Starbucks as well. Drank half of it and am having the other half today. I had put coconut oil in it. Get ready for the TMI....I'm wondering if this is "stopping me up" (constipation) or if I'm just not drinking enough water through out the day, but haven't gone to the bathroom in probably 48 hours. I'm much happier at 1x a day! lol....If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to them.

So, that's that. I'm glad that I have some time today to get meals/veggies prepped for the week. It's so much easier that way, as I'm sure everyone would agree :)

Hey! I like it, however I liked it more once I added more tomato juice to it. It came out really thick (and I normally like mine really thick, but this was too thick for me, lol). I think the recipe calls for 2 hours simmer and I had to cut that back simply because it was cooking all the liquid out. In the end, I loved it and ate it with avocado on top. Hubby ate it on top his hot dogs! Ha! I'm planning to make another batch next week.

Got some prepping done today! Whoot whoot! Of courses that meant I was taste testing all afternoon :)

Breakfast

Pumpkin "soup" made with pumpkin purée, coconut milk, chicken broth. Topped with sausage

Lunch

Shrimp stir fry with coconut aminos

1/2 cup berries with coconut milk

Nursed iced Americano all morning again

Dinner

Chicken nuggets and BBQ sauce from Multiply Delicious. This has a little orange juice in it but I checked label first :)

Broccoli

http://www.multiplydelicious.com/thefood/2011/09/coconut-chicken-nuggets-with-paleo-bbq-sauce/

3-4 strawberries

Prepped some veggies, so had couple baby carrots,

Made homemade pork sausage using Well Fed sausage seasoning (total keeper)! Obviously I had to taste this, do after a few bites I put in fridge before I ate whole batch, lol

Made egg muffins from Multiply Delicious, except using pork sausage, dried basil (didn't have fresh), added little yellow summer squash. Did not use spray for muffin tins, used EVOO. Second time I have made these and pretty sure next week I will just bake in 9x13 and cut into serving size. I'm having no luck with keeping mixture from sticking. They are yummy though

http://www.multiplydelicious.com/thefood/2011/08/egg-muffins/

Had a small one of those too, lol

Also made crockpot Balsamic Chicken from Skinny Crock Pot for the week. Tried 3 small bites of this. I *think* I like it, lol. Jury is still out.

So I had more "snacks" today but blaming it taste testing, lol

Major sore throat this evening. Have taken 2 rest days from CrossFit because of my back but now wondering if I should go tomorrow with this throat. Can't have cough drops either :(

Hope everyone's weekend was good!

Logging Day 12

Breakfast

Sausage, egg muffins (have veggies/spinach in them)

Tried 1/2 cup of berries with coconut milk, however I swear I have a bad batch of coconut milk. I've opened 3 cans in the last 2 days and all smell and look terrible. Exp. date on them is April 2015! It's the same brand I've gotten in the past so idk what is going on but I'm going to get a new stock today!

Lunch

Pumpkin "Soup" made with chicken broth and pork sausage from Well Fed

Dinner

Balsamic Chicken w/ Tomatoes (crock pot recipe from Skinny Crockpot that I made the other day)

Zucchini noodles

Few Strawberries

Seems like I had a few carrots somewhere in the day.

Also had a Unsweetened Passion Tea from Starbucks....holy goodness! I actually felt a little guilty drinking it b/c it tasted so good! It was refreshing!

No WOD, still recovering from cold and back still a mess. I did WOD this morning though, but I'll log that on my Day 13.

Hope everyone is having a awesome day!

Day 13

Post WOD - 2 small egg muffins (egg, sausage, spinach, veggies)

Breakfast

Sausage sautéed with red cabbage, spinach and side of tomato and avocado

Lunch

Balsamic crock pot chicken with small amount zucchini noodles (had more protein then I could eat and not enough veggie but I was in a pinch)

Small handful baby carrots

5 almonds

2 strawberries

Really not sure why I ate the almonds and strawberries. Looking back I think that was stress eating, so clearly I haven't mastered NOT doing that....sigh

Dinner

Sweet Potato "soup" with coconut milk and sausage

Berries with coconut milk after I got to witness the family eat corn dogs at the fair, lol.

Passion Fruit Tea this afternoon.

I'm really going to have to think through the stress eating, hoping I would have been past that by now....hmmmm

Until tomorrow :)

Day 14

Post WOD---ya forgot to grab it out of the fridge at my CrossFit Box! Whoops! It'll be there for me tomorrow

Breakfast-

egg muffins (sausage, spinach, egg, veggies)

Carrots, yellow pepper

Berries w/ coconut milk

Lunch

Balsamic chicken crock pot over bed of spinach with avocado (so tired of this chicken lol)

Dinner

Well Fed "Char Siu" (Chinese BBQ pork) with Well Fed Cauliflower broccoli "rice"

Strawberry, peach, kiwi mix

Had a beet while cooking dinner

Ate way too much dinner I think. I was so hungry since it took forever to cook, but well worth the wait. Have enough of the meat to freeze for later and have 2 meals worth for leftovers the next couple of days.

My stomach has been tour up today (started yesterday but worse today) :((( not sure what is going on or where to begin trying to figure it out. Maybe the sausage? Or pumpkin lately, idk.

Night all

Maybe the virus that gave you a cold/sore throat is also upsetting your stomach. I just got over something 2 of my sons had before me; fever, cough and generally feeling like cr@p. Today I spent a lot of time in the bathroom...:(

Don't have much of an appetite either. But my stomach has calmed down.

Well Day 15 has turned out to be the worst day!

Breakfast

4 egg muffins (same as one from previous days)

Half avocado

Beet

Peach a little later in morning

Lunch

Leftover Well Fed Char Siu & cauliflower rice

Post WOD

2 egg muffins

Starbucks Passion Tea unsweetened

Here's the major BS of the day! I get to my sitters to pick up my daughter and end up hanging around to help with snack. I was putting fruit on the kids plates, cutting larger strawberries down to bite sized for the little ones when a chunk flew off the plate onto the table. Instead of putting it on the kids plate, I popped it in my mouth. &@$! It has sugar on it!!!!! I nearly choked on it in panic as I knew immediately that this compromised my Whole30. To make matters worse I swallowed it. It was like a train wreck I couldn't stop.

I have done SOOO freakin' good and now this. Obviously it wasn't intentional and probably only had a small amount of sugar but I still want to cry like a baby about it! I really don't want to start over. I don't feel like it made me crave anything. Stupid strawberry was WAY too sweet. We have a wedding a couple days after I get through 30 days. I'm so frustrated. Anyways....

Dinner

PaleOmg Pumpkin Chicken Creamy bake stuff, lol. Has coconut milk, spaghetti squash and cauliflower in it too.

Frozen berries with coconut milk

Fighting the stress eating queues my brain is trying to throw. Thankfully I'm tired and about ready to o to bed. If anyone has suggestions or advice on my strawberry mishap, I'm all ears.

thanks

Day 16 - another successful day. I'm over the strawberry mishap. Ya, it ticks me off, more so b/c my sitter thinks I'm crazy for getting upset over a little added sugar, but she has no clue about the Whole30 program I'm on. I've thought about printing out a few things for her to read, but think it would be pointless. Love her to pieces but I know she thinks I'm crazy for being so concious of what is being put in our foods (this started well before Whole30, for me) Idk...anyways, I don't feel like it's totally messed up my Whole30 progress. More of a mental battle, I think.

Breakfast

Well Fed Char Siu w/cauliflower rice that was leftover. Glad I froze some of the Char Siu b/c I'm going to want to eat on this again soon :)

There wasn't really enough of this for a meal, so brought a few of the egg muffins with me to work as well. Munched on those throughout the morning. Had an apple too. I really hate my work days. I'm up at 4am, to work by 5am and eating breakfast. Makes for a long day and more like 4 meals since I'm not getting to bed until about 9:30pm. Plus if I WOD, I have something after that. Anyways

Lunch

Creamy Chicken Pumpkin Cauliflower Bake leftover (has spaghetti squash in it too)

Dinner/Post WOD meal

Ground Pork with veggies. Went with the Chinese 5 Star spice on this and cayenne, black pepper, salt, etc. Wow did I use too much cayenne! Oh well ;)

Went to a Norwex party at my best friends house. I knew she was going to have some food, but wasn't sure what. I was beyond thrilled when I walked in and saw fresh fruit and veggies I could have. I seriously don't think I had ever been so happy to see fresh veggies. I don't know why, but it made my night!

Day 17

Breakfast

Beet

Creamy Cauliflower pumpkin chicken back leftovers

Frozen berries with coconut milk

Lunch

Veggie ground pork stir fry leftover from yesterday.

Dinner

Went to the 2 year anniversary party at my local CrossFit box. It was all pretty much paleo but I still had to be very careful. I asked people specifics on as much of the food as I could and made my best call on them. Ended up with

2 chicken curry legs (these were so flipping good!)

Firecracker Tuna with cucumbers and peppers (The clothes make the girl recipe that I made, loved this! Probably ate more of this then I needed to!)

Kale, coconut, mango salad. I couldn't figure out who made this but really wanted to try it. I was nervous that it might have added sugar, so I tried one piece of the kale and it didn't seem overly sweet. Seemed like it was just olive oil, kale, mango, coconut. So I ate some more :)

Few pieces of fresh fruit.

Guacamole with fresh veggies

Still fighting this head cold and not sure how to kick it. Might be time to head to the doc.

Day 18

Breakfast

Scrambled eggs

Broccoli slaw (without the sauce stuff) sautéed a little

Half avocado

Cherry tomatoes

Frozen berries with coconut milk

Coffee

Lunch- this ended up a frustrating mess

I made sausage with mushrooms and put pizza sauce on it. Stirred it around, tried a small bite of it then proceeded to make my families pizza lunch. Then it dawned on me..... I haven't had that pizza sauce since before starting Whole 30, pretty sure it's safe but better double check. Yep, organic cane sugar!! DANG IT!! Well crap! Now between the strawberry mishap the other day and this I'm wondering if I should restart. Problem is we have a wedding the day after I'm scheduled to finish Whole 30. I don't know what to do but I'm just keeping on for now I guess.

So for lunch I ended up with leftover Firecracker Tuna, cucumbers, and tomatoes. Yummy!

Dinner

Grilled chicken breast with BBQ sauce (compliant BBQ that is lol)

Lettuce, tomatoes, half avocado

Today was a food prep day so there was more taste testing and munching going on food. I was stressed about the whole pizza sauce thing so I know I was doing more than just taste testing. I've really got to figure out how to break this emotional eating thing. Any suggestions out there?

Today's food prep for the week:

http://nomnompaleo.com/post/10031990774/slow-cooker-kalua-pig

Cauliflower Rice recipe from Well Fed (love this stuff!)

Zucchini noodles for meatballs & pesto that I'll make tomorrow or Tuesday

http://everydaypaleo.com/2012/06/29/sun-dried-tomato-meatballs-with-creamy-pesto/

Egg, sausage, veggie (broccoli slaw bag, no sauce) frittata

My daughter and I also made cinnamon banana muffins but obviously I won't be eating those lol.

Day 19

Post WOD- egg frittata

On way home from WOD coffee from Starbucks....straight up!

Breakfast-

remaining creamy chicken pumpkin cauliflower stuff. So glad it's gone now!

Frozen berries and coconut milk

Shredded and tried a few bites of the Kahlua Pig I had in the crock all night. Yum!

Lunch-

Remaining 2 bites of firecracker tuna

1/2 chicken breast

Fresh yellow and red peppers, cucumbers

Not enough for lunch and I paid for it.

Snack-

Apple and few almonds

Small piece egg frittata

Dinner-

Char Siu pork from freezer and cauliflower rice. Had food prepped but this just sounded really good.

Kiwi, blueberries, cantelope

I felt hungry most of the day and wanted to munch. "that" time of the month should be soon so maybe that's why.

Hoping tomorrow doesn't feel like such a battle of the mind vs stomach.

Day 20

Post WOD

Egg frittata

Breakfast

Can not remember what the heck I had! Ha!

Lunch

Firecracker "chicken", cucumbers, tomatoes

Frozen berries with coconut milk

Snack

Couple bites of the chicken above

Dinner

This http://everydaypaleo.com/2012/06/29/sun-dried-tomato-meatballs-with-creamy-pesto/

with zucchini noodles

I think that time of the month is about to happen....thinking an increase in sweet potatoes might be good idea. Feeling so hungry. Also wondering if I'm not eating enough all together. I don't know....
