Pinkcdawl
So this is my first day and I am super excited. I usually exercise 5 times a week but super low intensity like yoga, walking, etc. I am just trying to clarify that even though it is low intensity I am still suppose to have a pre and post workout snack??? Thanks!!!
missmary
maybe not? It depends on your context. For some people, yoga and walking are enough that they need a little something before and after. Some people wouldn't need anything at all for that amount of activity. Try it out. If you start feeling run down or tired or hungry, experiment with the pre- and post-workout snacks, but if you feel good without them, save them for more intense activities, longer cardio or strength training workouts. One exception: if you are walking or doing yoga first thing in the morning, I would encourage you to have a small protein/fat snack beforehand (if you don't eat breakfast before exercising). Eating something within an hour of waking is good for hormonal balance, and that snack should do the trick without upsetting your stomach during the workout. Pinkcdawl
Thank you for your help. I will save the extra workout snacks for when I run and life weights.
