Anyone starting 10/8?

Hey there! I started today too. This is my second Whole30. I completed my first on September 2nd and I had fantastic results.

Now that I am back in a routine with my kids at school and a whole bunch of birthdays are out of the way, I'm ready to jump into my second round. I maintained my weight loss of 14lbs from my 1st round, over the month since I finished. My total weight loss eating paleo is about 80lbs. I still have more to go but concentrating more on my fitness levels than the number on the scale, especially since I want to build muscle too.

I'm originally from the UK but live in Brooklyn, NY and I'm a self confessed nerd. I love reading, computer games, super hero movies, Lord of the rings, zombie movies, and I'm going to be a ninja :D

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Hey all! Day 1 down!

So far, only problems - a coworker brought me chocolate to work - super nice of her, but was strong and said no - and was dying to snack in the afternoon even though I wasn't hungry. That'll be a challenge, I think, because I am in my office all the time and usually have snacks throughout the day instead of 3 big meals, but I can do it.

How's everyone doing so far?

I just (re)started my Whole30 too. The last two times I got to Day 20 and then hopped on a plane and left behind all self-control. I have a clear 30 day stretch in front of me so looking forward to finally getting to Day 30. My challenge is boredom eating in the afternoon...I may have to take up knitting to keep my hands busy.

BelMac - that's my problem too! Just want to chew on something in the afternoon! I've just been doing hot green tea and a couple of raw almonds when I was dying. Also didn't eat enough at lunch today, so that probably had something to do with it.

Anyway, hope you're all having a great day 2!

I started yesterday 10/9 so I'm right there with you all. I had cut out refined sugars about 2 weeks ago in anticipation of starting the Whole30 and have felt a difference already, so am excited to see what is ahead of me! I have a lot of events on the calendar (and of course...Halloween), but I am committed to complete this 30 days. 1.5 days down and feeling great so far!

Looking forward to my trip to Whole Foods tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone!

  • 4 weeks later...

Day 26 - the end is in sight! I am very proud (and slightly amazed) that I have come this far without caving. It has probably only been possible with my new Saturday morning habit of buying all my organic veggies at the market and prepping them straight away for use during the week. My fridge is full of veggie-laden tupperware containers instead of takeout and random bars of chocolate (ok, maybe not so random).

I'm thinking of introducing milk back into my diet on Day 31, just to have with coffee and tea. Hopefully my stomach will go for it. Otherwise, while I miss the sweet treats, I'm ok with no gluten or grains or processed foods. Feeling extremely good and not at all deprived or hungry without any of them in my life so why go back? I hope others have also been seeing/feeling some good results from this program.

A few work colleagues have also jumped on board, which is great. If only I could convince some of my family members to sign up...
